Today I’ve had the pleasure of hearing a up-and-coming singer-songwriter from Mazatlán Sinaloa, Mexico. His name is Daniel Arlesz, and I’ll be reviewing his second single called “Let Us Go”.

This tune speaks to the gut-wrenching pain of a broken heart with raw honesty, refusing to sugarcoat the intense emotions. Therefore, it is the perfect anthem for anyone feeling down, and it will guarantee to lift your spirits and give you the motivation to continue through the heartache.

The moment you press play, ‘Shine’ radiates with a warm, happy beat and bubbly piano rolls that collectively invites you to the sunny side of life.

Moreover, with lyrics like “It can’t be too late for you to shine”, it’s the perfect song to get you out of your slump. The track is set to a feel-good performance by Harris, whose vocal is pure sunshine and is as captivating as ‘Shine’ is reassuring that it’s never too late to be who you are meant to be.

This song is like a breath of fresh air with the contrast between simple and complex melodies which gave it an interesting sound that lingers after just one listen. I have to say that, as a whole, I was blown away by how creative and original this song was, and I can’t wait to hear more from this artist in the future.

Dream Pop Lucy Dreams unveil new track and music video ‘Dreamland’

Vienna-based Dream Pop Lucy Dreams have unveiled their latest single, ‘Dreamland’. The first taste of their upcoming debut album Götterfunken, the song is a dreamy synth pop tune with catchy lyrics that will leave listeners in awe.

Consisting of David Reiterer, Philipp Prückl and an independent system of digital and analogue effects, Lucy. The A.I. Lucy, was born in David and Philipp’s time tinkering with music recording software, but has grown to be an accepted member of the group who they affectionately call Lucy as an A.B. – artificial band member.

The accompanying music video for ‘Dreamland’ captures the essence of this track, combining enchanting visuals in futuristic scenes. As the scenes switched from one to another, I was awed by the stunning and breathtakingly beautiful experience.

What sets them apart from other dream pop bands? You can’t really compare them with anything else right now because their sound is distinct, combined with the concept of having an A.I. as a member is so unique. You’ve never seen anything quite like this.

We had the opportunity to speak with David Reiterer and asked about their process on creating this dreamy music masterpiece.

Welcome to Ult Pop, Lucy Dreams! Congratulations on the release of your new single, ‘Dreamland.’ As a new listener of your music, we’re curious how did you develop the idea for this project, including the artificial band member Lucy?

Thank you! Well, there’s the two of us, Phil and me. And Lucy, an independent system of digital and analogue effects, which we developed specifically for music production. Now, Lucy can be understood as an A.I. – but, the connection between her and us has become a far more intimate one, because Lucy is deeply involved in the songwriting process. So, we see Lucy as an A.B., an artificial band member.

What does the visualizer for ‘Dreamland’ represent: what were your influences while creating it? Did you see anything that influenced this work, or was it an original idea all the time?

We believe in a space beyond reality. A fictional place you create in your head, where you find shelter and in which you start to make your dreams real. With the track ‘Dreamland’, we want to share our very own and personal space with everybody out there. The track is a journey to a colorful and unknown galaxy, both for us and hopefully also for the listeners. We borrowed the visuals from a great artist called VISUALDON. The clips used in the music video represent exactly what we feel and what we believe in.

Besides the music and the visuals, what was your favorite part about creating ‘Dreamland?’

Definitely the interaction with Lucy. Her ideas have been the basis for important parts of the song, for example the four-note melody introducing the second chorus. The way Lucy processes what we feed her with is just incredible, and again and again leaves us speechless while producing.

Owynn’s ‘Star-Crossed’ is a synth and keyboard driven song with a funky disco vibe that will make you feel like the stars have aligned.

This bedroom-pop artist Owen McCloskey aka Owynn has so much to offer after hearing those rich synths in dance-y beats.
As the sound fills my ears, I feel a sense of relief as it transports me away from reality and into his world where anything can happen – even if its just for one song!

When you listen to this EDM song, it will make you feel like the stars have aligned. The way that each of the elements come together to form a sound is absolutely incredible and creative.

One thing surprised me a lot about it: it has an epic synth lead that will make listeners feel like they are in space.

The vocals in the chorus are catchy and alluring that they’ll surely give you “the last song syndrome.” There’s just something about this tune that makes it perfect for any occasion!

Cece Vee’s ‘Black Light’ is the song to get your power back in a bad relationship

Cece Vee’s ‘Black Light’ is a song that breaks the surface of a toxic relationship and brings back one’s power.

I got my first taste of Cece Vee’s ‘Black Light’ through Instagram and it was such a refreshing find! In other words, her sound is like nothing I’ve heard before, which makes me want to listen again. (thanks to #altpop hashtag!)

The artist goes on to say that this track is about taking your power back and making the conscious decision to walk away from a toxic relationship. Additionally, it deals with how a person can be slowly and unknowingly suffocated by toxicity in a relationship, referencing the great internal struggle that occurs as the toxic influence slowly creeps in and drains the life out of them.

Upon researching, I found its music video as well and it is an amazing spectacle. Also, not only does this banger have an incredibly catchy melody, but it also has a killer music video that was so eye candy with vintage telephone and television edited in a way that you can feel the artistry and dance along with it.

Then I was stoked to know that it was inspired from Film Noir. For instance, the dark and gritty atmosphere of the vintage film genre is captured in this mysterious visuals, with some eerie feel at some moving parts of the video.
